Updated Aftercare Instructions for Microblading, Permanent Makeup, and Body Art
Proper aftercare is the key to achieving optimal results. By following these steps,
you can ensure smooth healing and long-lasting pigment retention.
General Aftercare Guidelines
1. Keep the Area Moist
Use an ointment to keep the treated area moist 24/7 for at least 10 days. This protects the area from oxygen exposure, which could alter the pigment, and ensures proper color setting.
Tip: Always test a small amount on your skin first to ensure compatibility. If you are allergic to any of these, consult your technician for additional recommendations.
2. Avoid Washing
Do not wash the treated area for 24-48 hours after the procedure.
3. Things to Avoid for 10 Days
Makeup on the treated area.
Excessive sweating from exercise or other activities
Swimming or submerging the area in water.
Tanning or direct sunlight.
Hot saunas or steam rooms.
Laser treatments, chemical peels, or Botox in the area.
Tip: Always test a small amount on your skin first to ensure compatibility. If you are allergic to any of these, consult your technician for additional recommendations.
Tips for Healing
• Apply Ointment Throughout the Day
Use a cotton swab to gently apply your chosen product. The area should never feel dry.
• Pat Excess Fluid
For the first four hours post-procedure, pat the treated area with a paper towel every 30 minutes to remove excess blood or fluid.
• Prevent Infection
Avoid touching the area with your fingers to reduce the risk of bacterial contamination.
• Protect the Area
Use a total sunblock sunscreen after the area has healed to prevent pigment fading.
Avoid skincare products containing AHA ingredients (e.g., glycolic or lactic acids) as they can fade the pigment.
